The Four Boys!!!!

What are we going to do all summer long? We have decided to homeschool…At least Collin. I’m not sure when we will start school this next year. “Because we get to decide when school is in session for us. And of course what our school will look like. The first thing we will be doing for sure over the summer is DE-SCHOOLING…

De-Schooling will be nothing for the boys…They are ready for school to be out…However for me this is going to hard! Because I’m really excited about having Collin Homeschool. I’m excited to watch him blossom with excitement when he learns something new again. I remember when he was younger and he learned how to count or write his name. You seen the joy in his face as he showed us how wonderful he did that day.

I still see that with the twins…The twinkle in their eyes, the glow on their face’s, and the excitement in the tone of their voice’s. Gleaming with pride that they can do the new tasks, they learn daily. How excited they are to share it with the people they love. I don’t see that with Collin anymore. He is almost 13 however and it feels like he dreads learning anything, “except Minecraft, Roblox or fortnite”

That is what De-Schooling is about, for everyone to relax…to forget about the routine of public school…to de-program our way of thinking. Breaking old habbits. Learning new things because we want to learn…not to memorize then forget after the test is over. Making learning fun again!

I’m not sure how long this will be, we may chill out for a month or 4 months, and when we are ready we will learn again…our way! I want to find a way for learning to be fun again. I plan to go on some field trips during the summer. I believe in the concept of #LearningEverywhere.

I would like to hit a few nature parks around us, we all love walking trails and soaking in nature. We need to go see the science Museum, Matthew is obsessed with Science. I would love to go to the zoo, the twins love animals. My goal is find out what interests Collin now. He has grown so much and is changing so fast.

Our moto for this De-Schooling process is “Learn” is not a bad word! We #Learneverywhere. No matter what we do, we learn! So even though we are De-Schooling for a while we will be learning!
